Keralam Forest department to provide training for tourists to capture photos inside forests
The Kerala Forest Development Corporation is launching a new eco-tourism initiative that provides tourists with training in wildlife photography and forest etiquette. The program aims to promote responsible tourism and conservation awareness.

Capturing a glimpse of wildlife and the rich biodiversity of a forest is a goal for many visitors to eco-tourism centres. Backing Forest Minister Shibu Baby John’s vision to elevate the eco-tourism experience by offering visitors direct engagement with Keralam’s biodiversity, the Kerala Forest Development Corporation (KFDC) has launched a new initiative providing tourists with hands-on training in nature and wildlife photography. The programme will be rolled out across KFDC eco-tourism destinations throughout the State.
KFDC managing director Raju K. Francis said the pilot project will debut as part of a trekking package at the Arippa eco-tourism destination.
“Noted wildlife photographer and assistant conservator of forests (ACF) P.M. Prabhu will conduct theoretical and practical sessions for participants joining the trek. While the initiative begins at Arippa, we plan to expand it to all eco-tourism centres under the KFDC,” said Mr. Francis.
