The Finance Department of Keralam has sanctioned ₹1,438.56 crore to local bodies towards the second instalment of maintenance funds ( road assets and non-road assets) for the 2026-27 fiscal.

Of this, ₹539.46 crore has been allotted towards non-road maintenance fund and ₹899.10 crore towards the road maintenance fund.

Earlier, the government had earmarked ₹4315.68 crore for both components in the 2026-27 fiscal.

Under a local body-wise break-up, the six municipal corporations will be eligible for ₹114.51 crore, municipalities ₹208.7 crore, district panchayats ₹174.03 crore, block panchayats ₹67.02 crore and grama panchayats ₹874.24 crore.
