Keralam CM should not single out journalists who ask questions, says KUWJ

The Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) has demanded that Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan’s approach of singling out journalists who ask questions at the CM’s press conferences on the basis of the institutions they work for should be corrected. The Chief Minister’s remark that those asking questions are there to disrupt the press conferences is objectionable, said the KUWJ in a statement on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister has the right not to respond to questions, but the practice of naming and blaming certain media outlets for asking questions is not suitable for a democratic society, said a statement by KUWJ State president K.P. Reji and general secretary Suresh Edappal.
