“Onam is Keralam’s most cherished tradition and a celebration that belongs to all Malayalis, transcending caste and religion. At a time when vested interests are seeking opportunities to spread hatred and division for their own gain, the people of Keralam have made Onam an occasion to show the world that they stand united, beyond the barriers of caste and religion. This, indeed, is the true message of Onam,” Mr. Satheesan said in his message on Tuesday.
He noted that every Onam celebration inspires resilience and self-confidence, reminding people that they are never alone, even during difficult times. Mr. Satheesan wished that every Keralite would be able to celebrate Onam with family and friends, setting aside their sorrows and hardships.
