Keralam CM declines State police request to increase his security vehicles

Keralam Chief Minister V D Satheesan on Wednesday told the police that there was no need for an additional security vehicle, besides the pilot and one escort vehicle, in his convoy, official sources said.
The Chief Minister issued the instruction after the State police sought to add one more security vehicle to his convoy following the recent black flag protests by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists against him and other Ministers, the sources said.
Even on Wednesday morning, as the Chief Minister was returning from the airport here, BJYM activists tried to jump in front of his convoy and waved black flags at him.
However, Mr. Satheesan, whose official car is accompanied by a pilot vehicle and an escort vehicle, has declined the police request, the sources said.
