Malayalam actor S. Devan, who recently quit the BJP , on Monday (August 24, 2026) said he has decided to join Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party.
Mr. Devan, who was the BJP’s State vice-president, had recently announced his resignation from the post and his decision to leave the party at a public event.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Devan said TVK representatives met him two days ago and invited him to join the party. “After that, there was a video conference meeting and I decided to accept the invitation. There will be a meeting with TVK leaders in Tamil Nadu on September 10, after which a formal announcement will be made,” he said.
Mr. Devan said he had been offered the post of TVK State president and that discussions on the matter would be held during the upcoming meetings.
