Kerala PWD to begin project works only after land acquisition, says Minister

The Public Works Department (PWD) has decided to commence public works projects only after completing all mandatory procedures, including land acquisition. No public works project will be taken up henceforth without fulfilling all statutory requirements, including land acquisition, Public Works Minister P.K. Basheer has said.
Addressing a meeting of PWD officials convened to review the progress of public works in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts, the Minister said there had been a practice of initiating the tendering process for various projects without obtaining all the required permissions. This practice would no longer be allowed, he said.
