Kerala PSC cancels exam due to question paper distribution error

The Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) cancelled a preliminary examination scheduled for Saturday due to a question paper distribution error at a center in Alappuzha. The commission stated that a new date for the exam will be announced later, while other exams held earlier in the day proceeded as planned.
Why it matters
Administrative errors in high-stakes public service examinations can cause significant disruption and distrust in government recruitment processes.
Even as a probe into alleged irregularities in Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) examinations makes progress, the commission cancelled an examination earlier set to be held on Saturday (July 18, 2026) afternoon in the wake of an error in distribution of question paper.
The PSC, in a statement, said the 10th preliminary examination stage 2 to posts, including that of last grade servant, in company/corporations that was to be held from 1.30 p.m. to 3.05 p.m. had been cancelled after an error in distribution of question paper at an exam centre in Alappuzha.
