A major reshuffle in the top ranks of the Kerala Police is expected following the retirement of Director General of Kerala Fire and Rescue Services Nitin Agrawal on Friday.
The administrative overhaul has also been necessitated by the suspension of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) M.R. Ajith Kumar, leaving the post of Managing Director of the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) vacant for nearly a week.
Among the names being discussed is Director General of Kerala Prisons and Correctional Services S. Sreejith, who is considered next in line for promotion to the Director General of Police (DGP) rank, being vacated by Mr. Agrawal.
Officials indicate that appointments to several important IPS positions are under consideration, and government orders are expected in the days to come.
