Kerala government begins process to convert CET into KTU constituent college, forms working group
The Kerala government has formed a high-level committee to transition the College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram (CET) into a constituent college of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The panel has been given one month to finalize the transfer of assets, liabilities, and personnel.

The State government has officially constituted a high-level working group to transition the College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram (CET) into a constituent college of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU).
The move follows a recent announcement in the State Budget, in which the United Democratic Front (UDF) also proposes to upgrade the Government Medical College Hospital, Thrissur, into a constituent college of the Kerala University of Health Sciences.
The panel comprises Kerala State Higher Education Council Vice-Chairperson Achuthsankar S. Nair, KTU Vice-Chancellor Ciza Thomas (or her nominee), Dean (Academic) and Registrar of KTU, Director of Technical Education, and CET Principal. The Principal Secretary of Higher Education or a nominated Additional Secretary will serve as the convener of the committee.
