Kenya skies set for partial lunar eclipse on Friday morning
A partial lunar eclipse will be visible in Kenya and other parts of the world on August 28, 2026. The Kenya Space Agency has provided viewing times and safety information for the event.

The eclipse will begin at approximately 4:23 am East Africa Time, with the partial phase starting at about 5:33 am and continuing until 8:52 am.
However, visibility in Kenya will end at around 6:30 am as the moon sets and the sun rises, according to KSA.
KSA has advised those hoping to observe the eclipse to find a clear, unobstructed view towards the western sky.
No special glasses are required to observe a lunar eclipse, unlike a solar eclipse, and the event can be viewed with the naked eye.
