The Minister, who visited Mangulam hillock, the 3rd century BC caves and monastery beds, and Keeladi museum and excavation sites, accompanied by officials from the ASI, Tourism Director Jeyaseelan, Madurai Collector Nishanth Krishna, MLAs S Karthikeyan and Karuppiah, told media persons that the State government would provide support to the ASI and Union government in this programme.
He said that the site was historically significant as Pandya King Nedunchezhian’s inscriptions were spotted here and that it established his rule from Sangam Age. For more visibility and easy access, the Department officials would provide better infrastructural facilities, he assured.
