KEA adds 150 medical seats for second round counselling

The Karnataka Examinations Authority has added 150 medical seats to the second round of counselling. Candidates can now modify their options until September 9 to include these new seats in Bagalkot and at Farooqia Medical College.
Why it matters
This expansion increases access to medical education for students in Karnataka, directly impacting the availability of future healthcare professionals.
After the Medical Education Department wrote to the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) permitting admissions to 150 additional seats, KEA Executive Director H. Prasanna on Monday announced about the seat enhancement for the second round of counselling.
He said, “Around 100 seats in Government Medical College in Bagalkot and 50 additional seats at Farooqia Medical College are added to the second round of medical and dental seat allotment. Interested candidates can enter their options until September 9.”
