KBN University gives priority to holistic development of students: Ashfaq Ahmed
Khaja Bandanawaz University in Kalaburagi has inaugurated a six-day Sports and Cultural Fest to promote the holistic development of its students. The event includes various competitions ranging from sports like badminton to cultural activities like painting and dance.
Why it matters
The festival highlights the university's commitment to integrating extracurricular activities into the academic experience to improve student well-being.
Khaja Bandanawaz University (KBN University) is giving priority to the overall development of students by providing opportunities in sports, cultural activities and other co-curricular programmes, said pro Vice-Chancellor Ashfaq Ahmed.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Sports and Cultural Fest 2026 at the university in Kalaburagi on Monday.
“Sports contribute to both the physical and mental development of students and helped them remain cheerful and relieve stress amid their busy lives. Participation in sports could improve overall health and help students relax and refresh their minds,” Prof. Ahmed said.
He said the KBN Turf had international-level facilities and noted that the university’s Chancellor, Syed Muhammad Ali Al-Husseini, had taken a special interest in promoting sports. He urged students and faculty members to participate in large numbers in the activities and appreciated all those who had worked for organising the festival, describing it as an example of teamwork.
