Kavitha’s TRS to contest Khairatabad bypoll

Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha announced that her party would contest the Khairatabad Assembly by-election whenever it is held.

“We will announce the candidate at the right time but we have decided to contest the bypoll,” she said at a press conference on Sunday. Ms. Kavitha also criticised defections by elected representatives across party lines and said the party would use the election to raise the issue of constitutional propriety.

Ridiculing the investigations and ‘farmhouse politics’, she said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will not take any action against the BRS leaders. “The idea is to create some sensation, hog headlines, settle the issue and forget it completely,” she said asking what happened to the phone-tapping case.
