Telangana Rakshana Sena chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha opposed the reported proposal to phase out the Intermediate education system in Telangana, asserting that there was no need to tamper with a system that was functioning well.
Addressing the ‘Save Intermediate Education - Jang Sairen’ meeting organised by the Telangana Intermediate Education JAC on Friday, Ms. Kavitha said Intermediate Board was among the best in the country and warned that scrapping it would amount to defeating students’ interests.
Taking a swipe at Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, she said the government was taking crucial decisions without adequately consulting intellectuals and subject experts. She criticised the Chief Minister’s reported remarks questioning the relevance of engineering education and suggesting changes to ITI and polytechnic education.
