Katutura East clean-up targets Gemeente Bus Stop, Shanghai Street

The Mayor of Windhoek is leading a clean-up campaign in Katutura East to improve local sanitation and environmental standards. The initiative encourages community participation to foster civic pride and cleanliness.
Why it matters
Community-led environmental initiatives are essential for urban maintenance and public health in rapidly growing cities.
After a strong turnout last weekend, the Mayor’s Clean-Up Campaign continues in Katutura East tomorrow.
This time activities will centre on the Gemeente Bus Stop and Shanghai Street. Last weekend, young and old residents gathered near the constituency office.
Youth participation was particularly strong, and the clean-up covered areas across the constituency, including the Sonder Water area behind Shandumbala.
