Kasese, Uganda | URN | A worrying rise in suicide cases and teenage pregnancies has sparked concern among religious, civic and government leaders in Kasese District, with calls for urgent action to protect vulnerable young people. The concerns were raised during a review of the South Rwenzori Diocese’s 10-year Strategic Development Plan held in Kasese Municipality, where leaders warned that increasing emotional distress among young people and weakening community support systems are fueling the twin crises.
