Members of various environment protection groups and community organisations will take out a Karwar-Ankola-Gokarna Chalo in Uttar Kannada on Thursday to seek protection of rivers and forests of the district.
“This rally is aimed at creating awareness against unscientific projects to save the Gangavali-Karavali region. It is being organised on the directions of Sri Gangadharendra Saraswati Swami of Sonda Swarnavalli Math,” said a release.
“The main objective of the rally is to create public awareness by opposing any unscientific projects that may harm the rivers, forests and ecosystem of the coastal area,” it said.
“The conservation of rivers and natural resources is directly related to the survival of the next generation. Therefore, this is not a fight limited to any one class but, a question of survival for all,” it said.
