Karnataka Minister Satish Jarkiholi says he was misquoted on ED searches; releases video message
Karnataka Minister Satish Jarkiholi has released a video message clarifying that he did not challenge the Enforcement Directorate regarding investigations into his premises. He stated that he is fully cooperating with the agency and urged media outlets to report his statements accurately to avoid public misinformation.
Why it matters
This clarification highlights the ongoing tension between political figures and investigative agencies in India, while underscoring the role of media accountability in high-profile corruption investigations.
Satish Jarkiholi, Karnataka Minister and Congress leader, has said that he was misquoted by some media outlets in reports about the Enforcement Directorate searches at his premises.
“Some newspapers have reported that I have thrown a challenge to the ED to prove my overseas investment. This is far from truth. I have never said that,” he said in a video message. This is to clarify that I have not challenged ED or any other agency. I have not used that word anywhere. There is no question of posing any challenge to any agency.”
#SatishJarkiholi pic.twitter.com/RariFlXyk3
