Karnataka High Court rejects actor Darshan’s plea against grant of pardon to co-accused Pradosh

Actor Darshan suffered a setback as the High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday rejected his plea against the trial court’s order granting pardon to co-accused Pradosh and turning him into an approver in the Renukaswamy murder case.

Justice V. Srishananada passed the order while reiterating the principles of law that co-accused persons in the case have no right to challenge the pardon granted to accused persons as they have only right to cross-examine the approver during the trial after examination-in-chief by the prosecution.

One of the main contention raised in Darshan’s petition was that Pradosh had communicated with his wife and other persons outside the prison and he was influenced to become an approver.
