Karnataka bakeries body welcomes food safety drive, says training provided to those working in sweet shops, cafes

The Karnataka Bakeries, Sweets and Cafe Association (KBSCA) has welcomed the inspections conducted by Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) officials in sweet-manufacturing units across the State over the past two days and said frequent inspections are necessary to ensure food safety and maintain consumer confidence.
However, the association pointed out that it has already been taking proactive steps by providing Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) programmes to create awareness among employees and owners of bakeries, sweet shops and cafes on the rules and regulations prescribed by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
