A woman left with permanent, life-altering injuries after a car crash was raped by a care worker on the first day he was left to work unsupervised.
The victim said the attack left her depressed, anxious and scared.
Her rapist, Karanpreet Singh, who had moved to New Zealand from India some time earlier, will now be deported after serving a prison sentence.
Singh, in his early 20s, had defended several charges at a judge-alone trial and was found guilty of rape and attempted sexual violation by Judge Philip Crayton in the Hamilton District Court in March.
