Kannur Dental College student’s death: Crime Branch names principal, teacher too as accused
The Crime Branch has named the principal and a teacher of Kannur Dental College, Dr. Vinod Moni and Dr. Latha Sasidharan, as additional accused in the death of student Nitin Raj. They are seeking anticipatory bail, while two other faculty members were previously accused, with allegations of caste-based abuse.

The Crime Branch has named the principal and a teacher of Kannur Dental College in Anjarakandy in Keralam too as accused in connection with the death of dental student Nitin Raj.
Principal Dr. Vinod Moni and faculty member Dr. Latha Sasidharan have been included in the accused list.
Both have approached the Thalassery District and Sessions Court seeking anticipatory bail following their inclusion as accused.
Dr. M.K. Ram is the first accused in the case, while another faculty member, Sangeeta Nambiar, is the second accused.
Nithin Raj, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, died on April 10 after jumping from the college building. His relatives had alleged that he was subjected to caste-based abuse by teachers.
They had primarily levelled allegations against Dr. Ram and Sangeeta Nambiar. Following protests, both were suspended.
