Kannada film stars to participate in Jamboo Savari in Mysuru
Prominent Kannada film stars and sportspersons are set to participate in the upcoming Jamboo Savari procession during the Mysuru Dasara finale. The event will also feature a special tableau celebrating the 93-year history of the Kannada film industry.
Why it matters
The inclusion of film personalities in a traditional cultural festival highlights the intersection of regional entertainment and state-sponsored heritage celebrations.
Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy said that prominent Kannada film personalities will participate in the Jamboo Savari during the Mysuru Dasara finale in October.
Presiding over a meeting with representatives of the Kannada film industry at the Zilla Panchayat office in Mysuru on September 9, Mr. Reddy said that, as desired by Karnataka’s Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, leading actors, actresses and artistes from the Kannada film industry, along with sportspersons who have excelled in their respective fields, would participate in the Vijayadashami procession.
They will travel in an ‘Ambaari’ bus from the palace to K.R. Circle on the day of the Jamboo Savari. They will later be taken back from K.R. Circle to the palace and accommodated in the gallery to witness the procession.
