Kanimozhi reviews progress of key development schemes in Thoothukudi at DISHA meeting

The review covered infrastructure, rural employment, agriculture, and urban development projects, with officials urged to expedite ongoing works for public benefit.

Thoothukudi MP K. Kanimozhi chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting, here on Saturday.
During the meeting, Ms. Kanimozhi reviewed the progress of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and the employment initiatives under Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (gramin) (VB-G RAM G) being implemented by Rural Development and Panchayat Raj department.
She also reviewed the progress in works of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, which aims to provide all-weather road access to eligible unconnected habitations, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen.
Ms. Kanimozhi further assessed the progress of “Seermigu Nagara Thittam” of Thoothukudi corporation and Amrut 2.0 being implemented in the municipalities and town panchayats of Thoothukudi district.
