Following the suicide attempt of a sanitation worker in Melur over allegations of caste discrimination Kottampatti Panchayat Union has officially dismissed Kambur village panchayat secretary, S. Roopa, from her position in the administrative interest, effective from Monday.
The action was initiated by Ramamoorthy, Block Development Officer (Village Panchayat) of Kottampatti.
According to official proceedings, the decision stems from formal complaints and letters submitted by C. Sasikala, a sanitation worker, and Punitha, a sanitation promoter from Kambur.
Authorities proceeded with the dismissal by adhering to the guidelines outlined in Government Order G.O.(MS) No. 113 issued by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department on September 13, 2023.
