Kalshi is running a lot of 'Love Island' ads on TikTok
Prediction market platform Kalshi is running targeted TikTok ads for 'Love Island' betting markets, which has led to a significant increase in female users. While the campaign is effective, some fans have expressed annoyance at the intrusion of gambling into their entertainment experience.
Why it matters
This highlights the growing trend of integrating gambling into mainstream pop culture and the effectiveness of hyper-targeted social media advertising.

The ads seem to have worked: Kalshi says it has seen growth among female users lately. But some fans of the show are annoyed by the intrusion of betting on the show — and by the ads. By this point, I have now watched an astonishing amount of " Love Island USA ," which airs six nights a week (yes, six — it's a commitment!) on Peacock during June and July. To complement this, I have also consumed nearly as much screentime guzzling down TikToks about about the show. This means I have seen more than one fan edit pairing clips of a contestant who wronged someone on the show with photos and videos of Saddam Hussein.
