The I Additional District and Sessions Court, Kalaburagi, has sentenced a 40-year-old man to life imprisonment for murdering a fellow villager over suspicion of an illicit relationship with his wife and an earlier dispute over the construction of a house.
The court, presided over by judge A.V. Srinath, convicted Nagayya Shivalingayya Swami of Honnakirangi village under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. The court also imposed a fine of ₹25,000, with a default sentence of six months’ simple imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on the morning of April 17, 2024, within the jurisdiction of Farhatabad Police Station.
