Kalaburagi: AIDSO, AIDYO demand scrapping of SIR

Members of the All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) and the All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO) staged a protest at Jagat Circle in Kalaburagi on Sunday, demanding the scrapping of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
AIDSO district president N.K. Tuljaram condemned the police action against student and youth activists protesting against SIR process and detention of several national and State-level leaders at New Delhi.
AIDYO district president S.H. Jagannath alleged that the revision process threatened democratic rights and demanded greater accountability from the Election Commission.
