A juvenile was apprehended with 48 kg ganja near the City Convention Centre on Nampally Station Road on Saturday (August 22), the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force said.

The Khairatabad Zone Task Force, along with Abids Road police, apprehended him while he was allegedly transporting the banned substance from Visakhapatnam to New Delhi. Police said he had been lured into transporting the contraband for quick money.

The teams seized 24 sealed packets of dried marijuana, wrapped in brown tape and concealed in two air-carry bags and two large briefcases. A Vivo T4R 5G mobile phone was also seized. The seized contraband and other property were valued at ₹24.5 lakh, police said.
