Beau Lamarre-Condon, a former police officer, is accused of shooting Mr Baird and his partner Luke Davies with his service pistol in February 2024.
Mr Lamarre-Condon's defence team has flagged an argument of self-defence, and he has pleaded not guilty to murdering the couple.
