Before this trial began, I sat down with Tupac's stepbrother, Mopreme Shakur.
He told me he was cautiously optimistic but after nearly 30 years of disappointment, he was not taking anything for granted.
He described the night he heard Tupac had been shot – racing to Las Vegas and sitting beside him in the hospital as his family waited and hoped.
