Jury finds Jason Eaton guilty of attempted murder in 2023 shooting
A jury in Burlington has convicted Jason Eaton of attempted second-degree murder for the 2023 shooting of three Palestinian men. The jury rejected Eaton's insanity defense, and he now faces a potential life sentence.

Jurors deliberated for two hours before convicting Eaton, 51, of three counts of attempted second degree murder for shooting Hisham Awartani, Kinnan Abdalhamid and Tahseen Ali Ahmad.
As the verdict was read in the packed courtroom, Eaton stood quietly in between his attorneys. He faces up to life in prison, and will be sentenced at a later date.
Awartani’s mother Elizabeth Price told reporters that the verdict made it clear: Eaton was responsible for his actions.
