Junior doctor threatened by patient’s attendants at NIMS Hyderabad, RDA stages protest

Resident Doctors Association (RDA) at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad held a protest on Thursday (September 17) after a junior resident was verbally abused and threatened with physical violence by attendants of a patient.
According to the RDA, the incident occurred on Wednesday (September 16) afternoon when a junior resident in the Department of Emergency Medicine K. Srikanth, was on duty in the triage and ICU area on the first floor of the hospital. Dr Srikanth attended to a patient in Bed No. 50 at around 2.26 p.m. and, following a neurology consultation, advised a CT scan of the head and also recommended Foley catheterisation.
