Judo team gains momentum ahead of Region 5 Games

The Botswana national judo team is preparing for the upcoming Region 5 Games despite facing financial constraints that led to the cancellation of several training tournaments. The squad has been training young athletes through national development programs.

The competition also provided valuable preparation for Theresa Tagarira, who is set to represent Botswana at the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, from October 31 to November 13. Speaking to Sport Monitor, head coach, Thato Lebang said preparations for the two major competitions are progressing well despite a number of challenges along the way.“The team selection started at the beginning of the year with a long list of cadets, aged between 14 and 17.
