JSS STU congratulates its alumnus on Astrophysics discovery
JSS Science and Technology University has publicly honored its alumnus, Dr. Ronaldo Laishram, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recognition of his significant contributions to astrophysics. Dr. Laishram led an international team in discovering a 12.6-billion-year-old protocluster, which he named the 'Loktak Protocluster' to honor his heritage in Manipur.

JSS Science and Technology University (JSS STU), Mysuru, has congratulated its distinguished alumnus, Ronaldo Laishram, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded his groundbreaking contribution to astrophysics during the 136th episode of Mann Ki Baat broadcast on July 26.
Dr. Laishram completed his B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), now JSS Science and Technology University, before going on to earn his Master’s and PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Tohoku University, Japan. He currently serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ), where his research focuses on galaxy formation and evolution in the early universe.
