Jorge Jesus, on Cristiano's statement: "I read it and now I'm going to the Federation to work..."

Portugal national team coach Jorge Jesus declined to comment on Cristiano Ronaldo's recent public statement regarding his exclusion from a match against Norway. Ronaldo had accused the coach of breaking his word, but Jesus maintained a professional distance, stating he is focused on his work with the Federation.
Why it matters
The public disagreement between a high-profile athlete and a national coach creates significant tension within the Portuguese football team and draws intense media scrutiny.
Jorge Jesus does not want to add more fuel to the fire. After the statement from Cristiano Ronaldo, in which he explained, according to his version, the reasons that led him to leave the national team camp, the coach preferred to tread lightly when asked about what CR7 wrote on his social media. "I read the statement. And now, as I do every day, I’m going to the Federation to work, to think about the team and the Portuguese national team. I have nothing more to say", Jorge Jesus said this morning. On Tuesday, the first time he was asked about it, the national team coach told reporters from CMTV that he was still unaware of it.
