John Boadu has been elected National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He won with 47.19 percent of the votes cast at the congress held at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, which ended Sunday dawn.

Graphic Online's Gilbert Mawuli Agbey reports from Kumasi that John Boadu, a former General Secretary of the NPP, who lost his reelection bid as General Secretary in 2022, staged a comeback polling 2888 votes to beat his closest contender, Boakye Kyeremanten Agyarko, who got 2408 (39.35 per cent).

Other contenders Paul Awentami Afoko, who was also staging a comeback to the National Chairman position after his earlier term was truncated with a suspension in 2015 got 790 votes (12.90 per cent).

Sammy Crabbe had 41 votes (0.67 per cent)

Justin Kodua Frimpong on his part has been re-elected General Secretary of New Patriotic Party (NPP).
