JNNCE in Shivamogga secures eight ranks in VTU exams
Eight students from the Jawaharlal Nehru New College of Engineering in Shivamogga secured top ranks in the VTU examinations. Many of these high-achieving students come from rural and agrarian backgrounds.

As many as eight students of the Jawaharlal Nehru New College of Engineering (JNNCE) in Shivamogga, secured top ranks in the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) examinations for the academic year 2025-26. A majority of the rank holders are from rural backgrounds.
The rank holders, during an interaction with the media in Shivamogga, on Wednesday, dedicated their success to the support of their parents and the guidance of their faculty. They said their parents and the faculty played significant roles in their achievement.
Dhanyashree B.M., a resident of Sirigere village near Ayanur in Shivamogga taluk, secured the first rank in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and won seven gold medals. She said she travelled to the college every day, with the support of her parents, who are engaged in agriculture. She also thanked the college faculty for their guidance. Dhanyashree wishes to work for the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL).
