Jipmer’s Women and Children’s Hospital gets Platinum Certification for second time

The Women and Children’s Hospital of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research has received Platinum Certification under the Government of India’s LaQshya (Labour Room Quality Improvement Initiative) programme for the second consecutive year.

In a release, Jipmer said the LaQshya programme initiated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was aimed at enhancing the quality of care in labour rooms and maternity operation theatres by promoting evidence-based clinical practices, patient safety, infection prevention and control, emergency preparedness, and respectful maternity care.

The certification was given after a rigorous two-tier assessment process. Following the National-level certification awarded last year, Jipmer successfully secured the platinum status during renewal assessment conducted this year by the State Assessment Team achieving exceptional scores of 99.5% and 99%. These outstanding scores reflect the institute’s sustained adherence to the highest standards of maternal and newborn care, the release said.
