Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) has completed its 100th successful epilepsy surgery, marking a significant advancement towards providing comprehensive, advanced and accessible treatment for patients suffering from drug-resistant epilepsy.
According to Jipmer, the 100th procedure was recently performed on a 30-year-old man diagnosed with focal cortical dysplasia and drug-resistant epilepsy. Since its inception in 2015, the Comprehensive Epilepsy Care Programme at the institute has witnessed remarkable growth, with approximately 50 epilepsy surgeries being successfully performed over the last two years.
