Jarred Shaw, 36, has been at the Indonesia National Defense Center Hospital in Jakarta after being incarcerated at the Lapas Kelas 1 Tangerang prison, since July 10. He is being treated for Crohn’s disease, an inflammatory bowel disease that, according to the Mayo Clinic, causes swelling and irritation of the tissues in the digestive tract. It can lead to pain, severe diarrhea, fatigue, weight loss, and malnutrition.
