Japan offers Indian graduates teaching opportunities

Indian graduates can work in Japan as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) under the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) programme, First Secretary at the Embassy of Japan in India, Kobayashi Takashi, said on Tuesday.

Speaking at a seminar organised at Osmania University, Mr. Takashi explained the application and selection process and briefed participants on the professional opportunities and prospects available to selected candidates.

The JET cultural exchange programme, launched by the Japanese government in 1987, aims to promote internationalisation in rural Japan. The programme is open to young graduates.
