Officers and staff of the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre celebrated Dahi Handi as part of the Krishna Janmashtami festival in Belagavi on Friday (September 4, 2026).
Brigadier Girish Upadhya, Commandant, MLIRC, inaugurated the Janmashtami festival that was celebrated with devotion, enthusiasm and traditional fervour.
Veda Upadhya, president of the family welfare organisation, along with Officers, JCOs, ORs, and their families, gathered at Military Mahadev Mandir for the special puja, prayers and offerings marking the divine birth of Lord Krishna.
The celebrations continued on the morning of Saturday (September 5, 2026) with an exhilarating Inter-Battalion Dahi Handi Competition. Teams from battalions participated with tremendous zeal, energy and competitive spirit, transforming the occasion into a vibrant display of teamwork, determination and camaraderie.
