Jana Nayagan , the most-awaited swansong film of actor-turned-politician and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Vijay , is all set to release in theatres on July 23, the makers announced on Wednesday (July 15). The announcement finally ends the months-long drama surrounding the film’s release, which the Central Board of Film Certification halted in January.

Jana Nayagan , which went into production in October 2024, was originally slated for a January 9, 2026 release ahead of Pongal. However, the film's release was marred by significant delays, legal interventions and piracy issues.
