As Jamey Carney's loved ones prepare to lay her to rest on Wednesday, the man gardaí want to speak to in connection with her murder is being held in a jail in Jordan .
Ms Carney's boyfriend, Ahmad Al-Saqar, 28, could be extradited from Jordan if charges are brought against him in Ireland .
Although there is no extradition treaty between Ireland and Jordan, extraditions can be arranged on a case-by-case basis, according to an Interpol source.
“It’s up to the country where the person has been arrested to decide whether they want to extradite or not,” a source in Interpol said.
“Normally, you need a bilateral agreement between two countries to extradite. But a country can extradite individual cases on an individual basis."
