Jal Jeevan taps reach 38 kidney disease-hit villages in Andhra’s NTR district after Pawan Kalyan’s push

The special attention paid by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan to the travails of the people in A. Kondur mandal of NTR district, who were severely affected by chronic kidney disease (CKD), has helped in finding a solution to the decades-old health issue, according to an official release.
After coming to power in June 2024, Mr. Pawan Kalyan gave the issue top priority and got ₹49.94 crore sanctioned under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Amarajeevi Jaladhara schemes to ensure the provision of safe drinking water for the residents of 21 gram panchayats and 38 habitations who were struggling with renal ailment s, the release said.
It was stated that pipelines measuring 130 km were laid and other infrastructure created to supply 55 litres of safe drinking water per head daily to nearly 75,000 people through individual tap connections.
