JAKARTA – Jakarta’s main international airport will remain closed until at least 1am Singapore time on Sept 8 as volcanic ash from Anak Krakatau continues to disrupt air travel, with thousands of flights affected since Sept 5 .
The closure of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and six other airports was extended by another six hours to 11.59pm local time on Sept 7, according to an update from the Transport Ministry’s regional airport authority.
