‘Jailer 2’ trailer: Rajinikanth’s Muthuvel Pandian returns to take on a battalion of enemies
Sun Pictures has released the trailer for 'Jailer 2', the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster starring Rajinikanth. The film features a large ensemble cast and is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 15.
Why it matters
As a major cultural product in the Indian film industry, the sequel's release is a significant event for the regional entertainment economy.
Sun Pictures on Monday (October 5) unveiled the trailer for superstar Rajinikanth ’s most-anticipated action entertainer, Jailer 2 . Directed by Nelson, the film is a sequel to his 2023 film .
At the end of the first Jailer film, Varman, just moments before his death, warned Muthuvel Pandian (Rajinikanth) of severe consequences and that he would face the wrath of “the ones on top.” And in a truly exciting fashion, the new trailer shows that perhaps Varman wasn’t bluffing; a whole new battalion of enemies — played by Suraj Venjaramoodu, SJ Suryah , Vidya Balan, and Mithun Chakraborty — seem to be after Muthuvel.
